My name is Matt Salmon. My family and I our owned by our recently rescued 8.5 month old Male
beagle, Winchester O'Riley (Chester). We haven't got an accurate measurement but appears he is 15"
or so and slightly longer than standard. I cant understand how somebody would want to adopt him out.
He is even tempered, loves the kids, and is starting to understand the concept of "Stay". He is pretty
finicky when it comes to his "own" food, but give him a treat or sight of the neighbor dog's food (same
brand as his) it is gulped down within seconds.
The only obstacles that we have to overcome are: 1) he will not settle down when company is over, 2)
still chews all of the kids toys but is getting better, 3) does not adhere to Sit or Stay commands very
well when inside, 4) will sit and scratch with one paw at the patio sliding glass door only when I am at
the door, otherwise he is pounding thunderously and all the windows shake!!!!
When the right time comes, (w/larger yard, no landlord etc) I would definitely like to possibly show and
raise beagles.
